This rainy season is surely going to be a game-changer for the Indian auto Industry. Why? Because there are two major bike launches from two very big brands, and apart from that, there’s more to look forward to.
Triumph Speed 400 & Scrambler 400X
Triumph has already unveiled its most affordable bikes – the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X – and they are slated to be launched in India on July 5. Co-developed with Bajaj, both bikes belong to the Triumph Bonneville family and flaunt a muscular design language with neo-retro styling.
Powered by a 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, both bikes make 40PS and 37.5Nm – so expect a strong, torquey performance. The bikes look really premium, and the same can be said about the hardware. Head here for more details on that.
These bikes are really important for the auto industry, considering that they will open up the space for more mid-displacement performance bikes in the country. Expect the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X to be priced at around Rs 2.9 lakh and 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Along with Triumph, Harley-Davidson, too, is set to launch its most affordable bike this month. The X440 is slated for launch on July 3 and is made in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp. The bike has been teased multiple times and by now we already know that it gets a muscular roadster design language, reminiscent of the Harley-Davidson XR1200. It also looks pretty premium with the deep colours and stealthy finish.
Powered by an air-cooled 440cc single mill with an oil cooler, the X440 is expected to make around 38PS and 30Nm, which is pretty good for a roadster.
Expect the H-D X440 to come with a sticker price of Rs 2.7 lakh (ex-showroom), making it truly deserving of the most affordable Harley tag.
Ola S1 Pro Classic
If you ever thought that the Ola S1 e-scooter didn’t have enough variants, or its minimalist design language needed a retro touch, then this one’s for you. Ola Electric has teased a new variant for the S1 Pro which seems to be fully kitted out with accessories like a windshield, buddy step, centre stand and a cushioned backrest. It could be something similar to the TVS Jupiter Classic. Oh, and in terms of battery, powertrain and features, this new variant will be identical to the S1 Pro.
Apart from that, Ola has also teased two snazzy new shades for the S1 range, both slated to launch this month. Also, the deliveries for the S1 Air could commence this month as well.
We know that there are only a few confirmed launches this month, however, these are really important launches. Also, we can expect a lot more teases and unveils, along with spy shots of more upcoming two-wheelers. And how can we forget, our review for the Harley-Davidson X440 will go live in the first week of July, and the review for the Triumph Speed 400 will go up on July 14. Apart from that, August will see the revival of an icon in an electric avatar called Kinetic e-Luna. So stay tuned to ZigWheels for all the updates in the auto industry.
