Indonesia: Massive Explosion Occurs After Train Collides With Truck, Video Goes Viral

Jakarta: A massive explosion occurred on Tuesday after a train collided with a truck in Central Java. As per local reports, the incident occurred in the city of Semarang and one person was injured due to the collision.

Following this collision, local reports have further added nine trains were disrupted which impacted over 300 passengers.

As per initial reports, the truck had broken down while crossing the tracks. The driver had gone to seek help at the time the train crashed into the trailer truck.

Indonesian railway operating company – Kereta Api Indonesia stated that the collision occurred around 7:32 pm and the fire had been extinguished by first responders.

At the time of the collision, the train was carrying around 600 passengers. Out of this, only one was injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The train conductor and assistant conductor were safe.

Local police and officials from the Indonesian railways company stated that they were trying to remove the locomotives and the truck stuck on the Semarang West Flood Canal Bridge. The locomotives were later pulled west towards the nearby Jerakah Station.

At the time of the collision, the truck was empty and was dragged for about 50 metres from the crossing. The driver managed to escape before the crash. After a thorough check by railway operators, all trains resumed operations on Wednesday.
