Food Truck Friday brings out large crowd | Community

If it’s too hot to cook — inside or outside — and you don’t want to wait in a restaurant or drive-thru, London Downtown has an event more geared to your liking.

The second installment of the Food Truck Friday was held at Farmers Market on Friday evening, with a large crowd present. From traditional to creative fare, this event brought out a large crowd to enjoy food, fun and festivities.

Musical entertainment was provided by Brooks Kidd, London native who performed on “American Idol.” He was joined by fellow American Idol contestant, Mikenley Brown. Kidd and Brown met during the auditions for the show that sent both of them to Hollywood and have kept in touch since. Brown and her father, Mike, joined in with Kidd and Greg Kitzmiller for a quartet of music and vocals.

Julie Rea, CEO of London Downtown, said the event was another way of bringing people out to interact in a fun-filled atmosphere and strengthening community ties. Another Food Truck Friday is planned for later this summer.
